Breed Overview Information :The Curly Coated Retriever is among those dog breeds that came from the country of England.  It was known for a hunting companion when in the search for waterfowls as early as the 19th century.  The Curly Coated Retriever is definitely one of the small dogs and is also considered as the tallest retriever.  It is unique in a way because its fur consists of tight ringlets covering its body.  Curly Coated Retrievers are believed to be a cross between Irish Water Spaniels and Setters. 
Breed Character Information :  Curly Coated Retriever Breed information’s speak of the Curly Coated Retriever as a great family pet with the loyalty and the love of being with the family.  It is a breed that can also be very close to kids and just like kids, is quite rowdy at a very young age.

Breed Activity Information :A Curly Coated Retriever should have the right amount of exercise especially because of its liveliness and the fact that for it to be happy, it should be exercised regularly and mentally stimulated at the same time.  Dog agility activities as well as hunting trials will be some of the activities that will hold your Curly’s interest.
Breed Care Information :The curls of the Curly Coated Retriever do not really require high maintenance.  Combing is enough to prevent knotting of the coat hairs.  Bathing and nail trimming should be done as necessary.  If your Curly has wounds, make sure to treat them immediately as it is prone to infection.
Breed Training Information :  A gentle training method would work best on your Curly Coated Retriever because it can be a bit sensitive.  However, the trainer should also be firm as the Curly can be independent and may not listen if the trainer doesn’t show firmness.
