Breed Overview Information :Named after Catahoula Parish in the state of Louisiana in the United States, it is believed that Catahoula Leopard dog occupied North America the longest.  They are generally protective of their property.  They are athletic and very agile.  They must have a consistent reinforcement. 
Breed Character Information :Catahoula Leopard Dog is a working dog; they are bred more for their ability than for appearance.  They have a variation in terms of their physical appearance.
Breed Coat Information :Catahoulas have a single, small, thick fur in a variety of colors. Patched small puppy is predominantly white with any color patches. Black, red, chocolate, yellow, and brindle are the solid colors.
